Authors in Schools

typewriter imageWelcome to the Start the Story Author Directory, a whole new aspect of Start the Story magazine. We've put this directory together because we recognise the importance of getting authors into schools and talking face to face with pupils.

Although there are other lists of authors out there, we aim to become the definitive directory of author contact details, thanks to our existing relationships with primary and secondary schools across the UK and beyond. We want to help both authors and schools by helping them connect. We'll also be sharing advice for both schools and authors on how to make sure author school events have a real lasting benefit for all involved. Head over to the directory now and get searching.

The site is and will always be free for schools, librarians and individuals to browse. There is no need to register, and you can contact any of the authors on the database directly.

For authors there is a yearly fee of £25 to cover the cost of your listing. When you see the benefits of being listed in the directory, we think you'll agree it's a bit of a bargain.
